Educators value the involvement and support of parents, guardians, families and communities in schools.
I recently ran parent-teacher interviews for each of my three classes at parent-teacher night, and I found the parent-teacher interview package that I had created below to be incredibly helpful for this event. Below are some of the goal statements that I created for parent-teacher night, as well as some questions that I had laid out in case the parents did not come with their own questions prepared to ask me.
Furthermore, I also created a tracking sheet that I used for each of my students’ parents or guardians. Essentially, I recorded the student and parent’s name, the parent’s email (if I did not already have it), and finally, some comments and notes. In the case below, a parent wanted me to send her an e-mail with her child’s missing work, so that she could also keep track of it from home. I was able to send her an e-mail before I left the building that night.
